About Annie’s Nuggets
Why did you start writing Annie’s Nuggets?
Many years ago a friend said to me, “Annie, you always have such great tips. You should write about your tips in a blog for your friends.” That’s when Annie’s Nuggets was born.
Since then, Annie’s Nuggets has spread from being a little blog for a small friend group of readers to a helpful resource for people all over the world!
What do you consider a “nugget”?
A nugget is a discovery that exceeds expectations. It can be a product, an idea, a place, a hotel, a tip, a recipe, a better way of doing something. A find. A diamond in the rough, so to speak.
Is Annie’s Nuggets a travel site?
No, but I travel a lot, so in addition to simple lifestyle nuggets, I’ve collected plenty of travel nuggets. I hope sharing my personal travel experiences will help others feel confident and not so overwhelmed when trip planning.
How does Annie’s Nuggets make money?
It doesn’t. Annie’s Nuggets was never written to generate income. It is and always has been a way to share my discoveries, “nuggets”, with friends—honest, unbiased, every nugget personally vetted by me. 100% free. No ads, no spam, no commissions.
When your friends give you great advice or a helpful tip, do they receive a commission? Of course not.
I get paid when I accidentally meet Annie’s Nugget readers while dining at one of my favorite Paris restaurants. Or when an 80 year old reader decides it’s never too late to take that solo trip and sends me pictures from her travels. Or when a reader tells me that one of my recommendations made life a little easier.
Can readers contact you privately?
Of course! I love helping people with their travel plans, or when readers share possible nuggets with me. And if I ever make a recommendation that isn’t up to your standards, I want to know that too. We’re friends.
